First, we have unknown location and yet we > have an address for him. The listing of 5W is what throws us off as graves > are marked either north or south, not west. At least we can mark a 7'X18' > section where we would find Mr. Scobie and we may be able to get a little > more research. The good thing is that we know almost exactly where he is. > Second, the date is simply a neighborhood date. If you have a death date of > April 3 than that's the death date. The 5th may be the date the cemetery > took the order or maybe the interment date. We generally don't have more > specifics than that. > > Again, keep searching the Metro Region website like I mentioned - the > database should be up soon. > > Sincerely, > > Joey Lyons > President > Friends of Lone Fir Cemetery -------------------------------- Mr. Scobie, I went out to Lone Fir and I didn’t see a marker with William Scobie’s name on it. I did some further checking and I don’t see his name anywhere in our files. The only place I have found William Scobie’s name is on a list of people who are buried in our cemeteries and next to the grave number that it gives, it says “unknown location.” I’m not sure if that is an error but other than that I don’t have any other information about where he is buried. The person who is buried in Grave 5N, Lot 8, Block E is someone named Charles T. Bristow and he has a marker on his grave.
